The sales of Lil’ Kim’s mixtape Black Friday are a hot topic of conversation. The rap diva claims to have sold 113,000 copies of the $9.99 release via PayPal within 28 hours, but some have questioned the authenticity of those numbers. The Queen Bee stings back at the critics and Nicki Minaj in an exclusive interview with Rap-Up.com.
You tweeted that you sold 113,000 copies of Black Friday within 28 hours. Is that accurate? Right now it could be more.
What do you say to those who question the authenticity of those figures? At the end of the day, you’re always going to have your haters. We need the haters. There was actually a representative at PayPal who basically didn’t really confirm or deny it, but also [said] that they’re very happy and proud of the success of Lil’ Kim. I think numbers in other areas speak for themselves. I mean, why aren’t they questioning the Black Friday [video] being at 2.5 [million views] in less than 18 hours? Why aren’t they questioning that? What’s the difference? How can you add up one thing and not the other? I just feel like people pick and choose the area that they want to attack [laughs].
Do you know the current sales numbers? No, I actually don’t know right now. I have a team that kinda checks up on all that. We’ll keep you posted.
Nicki Minaj laughed off your sales claims. Did you see that? I heard about it. I didn’t see it actually for myself, but to be honest with you, homegirl is basically obsolete to me right now. She’s doing a lot of lame stuff. She’s so lame to me right now—she’s always been, but now really. At the end of the day, her sales can be questioned also. Not to say she didn’t have the build-up, but the only thing you kept hearing before her album dropped was nobody liked it, it was wack. Don’t get me wrong, she might have a couple songs that are OK, but who cares. The haters will be haters, that’s their job, and we need them.

Black Friday Video Premieres
Click Here to buy the Black Friday mixtape. According to Kim's twitter, the album comes with a free limited edition Black Friday t-shirt.
As of right now, the only way to listen to Black Friday is to purchase it through Kim via Paypal. The CD is $9.99 with free international shipping included. No track-listing or ship out dates have been provided. According to the official Twitter page, Kim will sign the first 100,000 ordered albums.
M Is For Music recently reported that Lil Kim had claimed to have sold over 113,000 copies via PayPal saying: “Thanks to you guys!! #lilkimblackfridaymixtape sold 113,000 copies in 28 hours which made me the #1 seller on paypal ever =) !!! THANK U!””
Now she has been outed as a liar after the blog tweeted a representative for PayPal who said there was no such thing as a #1 seller on PayPal saying: “PayPal only processes payments. We don’t actually sell the items.”
They went on to add that someone on eBay holds the record of a #1 seller adding: “If the product isn’t being sold on eBay, then it’s false.”
Lil Kim has not sold her mixtape on eBay and Street Anthem also stated: “Hip-Hop’s entertainment blossom Karen Civil also pointed out a valid point when speaking on the phone. Since the account was just recently opened and it does take several days to verify a business account through PayPal, the account would’ve been shutdown by the fraud department for suspicious activity for making the supposed amount of $1,128,870.”
