Bloods Member Arrested in Murder of Lil’ Kim’s Cousin
The NYPD has busted a Bloods gangbanger in connection with the Brooklyn slaying of rapper Lil’ Kim’s cousin, police said.
Daquan Carter, 28, of Brooklyn was hit with charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon Wednesday for allegedly shooting dead 26-year-old Courtney “Aggy” Tingle in Prospect Heights when Tingle walked outside of a baby shower he was attending on March 23, authorities said.
Tingle, a father who police say was affiliated with the Team Bang Out street gang and went by the alias “Young Courtney,” had just left the celebration at a Washington Avenue building when he was shot during a dispute.
He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with gunshot wounds to his torso, but was pronounced dead.
In the days after Tingle’s death, Lil’ Kim — whose real name is Kimberly Jones — posted on social media about his killing.
“It breaks my heart to have to send out this special RIP to my little cousin Aggy who was shot and killed,” the Brooklyn-born star tweeted at the time.
“At times you were so quiet but as soon as you started speaking everyone in the room knew that you were a real riot,” the “Magic Stick” rapper wrote. “You were a halfway comedian but I used to tell you that you need go away to college and get a basketball scholarship.”
Lil’ Kim added: “You had so much potential. We your family will greatly miss you and we will always keep our lighters up for you.”
Meanwhile, Carter was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Thursday and ordered held without bail.
He mouthed, “I love you,” to a woman — one of about a dozen apparent supporters in the courtroom — before he was escorted out. (PageSix)
