“He’s obviously one of the best, he’s everything,” said Lil’ Kim, wearing a red ruffle puff ball of a minidress to the Christian Siriano show Tuesday night, which almost felt like the before times thanks to a seamless proof of vaccine system at the door and some serious front row wattage.
As the first New York designer to step up to make masks during the early days of the pandemic, Siriano is one of the good guys, who always draws a crowd of well-wishers, this season including Katie Holmes, Busy Philipps, Kristin Chenoweth, Alicia Silverstone and Aquaria.
“Things just seemed to fall into place,” he said backstage, explaining how he’s always wanted Lil’ Kim to attend one of his shows. He’s also always wanted to have Marina from Marina and the Diamonds at the mic, and that fell into place, too. Dripping in fringe, Marina Lambrini Diamandis belted out ballads that brought even more heart to Gotham Hall.
Leah McSweeney sits with ‘idol’ Lil’ Kim at Christian Siriano fashion show
“Real Housewives of New York” star Leah McSweeney sat front row at the Christian Siriano fashion show on Tuesday — placed next to her “idol” Lil’ Kim, kicking off New York Fashion Week with a bang.
McSweeney first declared her love of the “Magic Stick” singer during NYFW last year, when she wore a tube dress covered with Lil’ Kim’s mugshot, designed by Rxch, to co-star Sonja Morgan’s fashion show.
It appears that the public declaration of love helped the Married to the Mob founder get closer to the rapper; McSweeney revealed to Paper Magazine earlier this year that she has since had dinner with the star.
“I get to talk to Lil’ Kim and say ‘I love you so much, I am wearing you all over my body,’ and I got to have dinner with her actually this year. She has been like my idol since I was 13 years old.”
